Understanding trauma through the lens of the Polyvagal Theory
During this pre-congress workshop, participants will be provided a detailed tutorial on the principles of the Polyvagal Theory. The Polyvagal Theory introduces a new perspective relating autonomic function to behavior and provides a neurophysiological foundation to understand and to explain variations in human experiences associated with emotion, attachment, social communication, self-regulation, defensive strategies, and psychiatric disorders.
