The model of the Five Petals of Identity will be presented to show how it can be used to harmonize patients’ conflicting parts. Each Petal - Body, Social, Professional, Spiritual and Secret Identity - is part of a whole. Each petal has its own characteristics with strengths and weaknesses; and each petal can transfer its resources to help another vulnerable petal, thus creating a harmony that is not the sum of the petals, but something that transcends. The lecture starts from the assumption that the conflict can be considered as a physiological dimension of coexistence since it belongs to the human nature and to the evolution of life.
